Legal and Institutional Framework

Strengthening the Civilian Oversight of Internal Security Forces Project Phase III consists of four components.

Under Component A, “Legal and Institutional Framework” the basic laws on police and gendarmerie will be reviewed and the curriculum of the Gendarmerie and the Coast Guard Academy will be improved in line with the principles of civil / democratic oversight and accountability principles provided by the EU as well as with international standards and best practices.
