The Third Workshop on Experience Sharing was conducted in Şehitkâmil
The third workshop conducted with a view to exchanging experience acquired by Local Prevention and Security Boards established under our Project was held in Şehitkâmil, which is the 7th mostly-populated district in Turkey, on 7-8 June 2021.
In this activity, experience and best practices acquired through the works of Local Prevention and Security Boards (LPSB) were exchanged. The implementation plan for the new activities of the stakeholders was also adopted.
79 participants including the Governor of Şehitkâmil District Mr. Ömer Kalaylı, UNDP representatives, all of the members of the Local Prevention and Security Board operating in the district as well as representatives of various NGOs, and national and local media attended the Workshop.
The workshop started with the inauguration speech delivered by the Governor of Şehitkâmil District Mr. Ömer Kalaylı. In the activity, the District Governor Mr. Ömer Kalaylı also made a presentation on “Implementation of Local Prevention and Security Plan in Şehitkâmil” while the Key Expert of UNDP in charge of Local Boards Ms. Sevcan Kılıç Akıncı delivered presentations on “Local Prevention and Security Endeavours in Şehitkâmil” and “Local Governance Schemes in Selected EU Member Countries”. The breakout sessions in which the stakeholders exchanged best practices and developed recommendations for sustainability of LPSBs continued for two days.
