
The First Training for Civil Society and Media Representatives was held
The first of Human-Centred Security and Civilian/Democratic Oversight Trainings was held in İstanbul on 18th and 19th of June, 2021. The training, which received 35 participants, was realised with a focus on civil society organizations and media representatives under the subtitles of “Civilian and Democratic Oversight” and “Citizen-Centred Security”. Within the scope of the training, the participants’ awareness on civilian oversight was raised through detailed presentations of modules developed under the Project by the field experts.
35 participants including the members of the Local Prevention and Security Board operating in İstanbul, representatives of national and local media institutions, representatives of NGOs working on women, juveniles, disabled people, youth, security, migration and human rights fields attended the training which lasted for two days. Following the opening remark delivered by Mr. Gazi Levent Kurtoğlu, the Head of Department of KİHBİ of the Ministry of Interior, module trainings started. After the presentation of each module, breakout sessions were conducted. The participants completing the trainings successfully were awarded with certificates.
