The Sixth Workshop on Exchange of Experience was conducted in Malatya
The sixth workshop conducted with a view to exchanging experience acquired by Local Prevention and Security Boards established under our Project was held for the Malatya Board, which is one of our Provincial Local Prevention and Security Boards, on 16-17 June 2021.
In the activity, experience and the best practices acquired through the works of Yeşilyurt and Hekimhan Local Prevention and Security Boards in Malatya were exchanged. Furthermore, the stakeholders adopted implementation plans for the new activities.
The activity received broad participation including the Yeşilyurt District Governor Mr. Turgay Gülenç, representatives of the Ministry of Interior, UNDP representatives, all members of Local Prevention and Security Boards operating in Malatya, Yeşilyurt and Hekimhan as well as various NGOs and national and local media.
The opening speech of the activity was delivered by the Yeşilyurt District Governor Mr. Turgay Gülenç. On the first day of the activity, “Implementation of Local Prevention and Security Plan in Yeşilyurt” was presented while on the second day the topic was the “Implementation of Local Prevention and Security Board in Hekimhan”. “Local Prevention and Security Board Works in Yeşilyurt and Hekimhan” were evaluated on separate days by the Key Expert of UNDP in charge of Local Boards Ms. Sevcan Kılıç Akıncı. International Expert Mathieu Zagrodzki delivered a presentation on “Local Governance Schemes in Selected EU Member Countries”. The breakout sessions in which the board members exchanged the best practices and developed recommendations for sustainability of the boards continued for two days. After the workshop, the Key Expert Ms. Sevcan Kılıç Akıncı and Hekimhan District Governor Mr. Muhammed Öztaş held a meeting for evaluation of the implementation and planning the future activities.
