Awareness Raising Event was held for Şehitkâmil District

The tenth Awareness Raising Event was held for Şehitkâmil District of Gaziantep on 21^st of June, 2021. The event was hosted by the Şehitkâmil District Governor Mr. Ömer Kalaylı, Department of KİHBİ of the Ministry of Interior and UNDP.

Delivering the opening remarks, Mr. Kalaylı expressed his gratitude to the Project team and members of the Local Prevention and Security Board by highlighting the importance of the works conducted in the district. Then, Dr. Ömer Bilen, the UNDP Expert responsible for Public Opinion Polls, presented the Şehitkâmil Local Security Survey Results to the participants.

Then, the UNDP Key Expert Dr. Sevcan Kılıç Akıncı made presentations on the Importance of Civilian Oversight to Build Trust, Improvements in the Project, Local Prevention and Security Plan in Şehitkâmil respectively. In the afternoon, breakout sessions were held to evaluate the local action plans under the title of Monitoring the Works of Local Prevention and Security Board in Şehitkâmil.

The event was concluded with identification of further steps to be taken under the Project.
