Fourth National Crime Prevention Strategy Workshop Held in Antalya
Fourth National Crime Prevention Strategy Workshop was held in Antalya between 31 August 31th – September 1st. The first of the Crime Prevention Strategy Workshops was held in Ankara on 1-2 June 2021, the second in Istanbul on 15-16 June 2021, and the third in İzmir on 29-30 June 2021. 50 people consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Interior, Directorate General of Migration Management, General Directorate of Security, Gendarmerie General Command, Coast Guard Command, Local Administrations and NGOs attended the event.
The event started with the opening speeches. Then, UNDP Expert Dominique Lapprand made a presentation about “Social Crime Prevention Approach”. Afterwards, UNDP Specialist Can Umut Çiner shared his presentation on “Basic Causes of Crime and Factors Facilitating Crime” with the participants. In the afternoon session, group discussions were held on the topics of “Basic Causes of Crime and Reducing Factors Facilitating Crime” and “Assessment of the Main Causes of Crime”. The first day of the event ended with the evaluation of the results obtained from the group work.
The second day of the event started with UNDP Expert Dominique Lapprand’s presentation on “Crime Prevention in the Face of New Social Realities”. Then, International Expert Marc Watin Augouard gave a speech on “Cybercrime and Citizens”. In the afternoon session, two different group studies were conducted under the titles of “Protection of Citizens Against Cyber Crime and Immigration” and “Prevention of Crime”. The event has concluded after the experts evaluated the results of the group studies.
