First Round of Awareness Raising Activities Started with Çorlu
52 people including Çorlu Local Prevention and Security Council members, representatives of public institutions and organizations, NGO representatives, UNDP representatives and press members attended the event, which was held online due to pandemic conditions.
Opening speeches were made by ; The Ministry of Interior Representative, Internal Affairs Specialist Hasan Ali Taşlı, Project Chief Technical Advisor Sebastian Roche and Çorlu District Governor Cafer Sarılı.
After the presentation titled “Community-Based Policing as a Way of Including Citizens and Preventing Crime” conducted by International Senior Expert, Mathieu ZAGRODSKI, Senior Expert Responsible for Opinion Polls Ömer Bilen shared the results of the Çorlu Security Survey with the participants. In the afternoon session, a panel “A Multi-Stakeholder Support Mechanism for Ensuring Internal Security: Local Prevention and Security Boards, Çorlu Example” was held under the moderation of Serra TİTİZ, Istanbul, Tekirdağ and Izmir Regional Coordinator of the Project.
In the panel; Çorlu Women’s Rights Protection Association President Feray Karagöz, Çorlu City Council Secretary General Recep Aygün Ömürveren, Yeşilay Çorlu Branch President Serkan Alkan, Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University Faculty of Law Faculty Member Ezgi Cankurt and Çorlu District Police Department Traffic Bureau Supervisor Aykut Akraç informed the participants regarding the activities of Çorlu Local Prevention and Security Board.
The first round of Awareness Raising Activities will continue with Buca and Beşiktaş.
