Advisory Board Meetings are Completed
Phase three of the project aimed at establishing a “National Crime Prevention Office” under the Ministry of Interior. To this end, an Advisory Board on Legislation, led by the Ministry of Interior and comprising 12 members, was set up to develop recommendations on the establishment of the office in question.
The Advisory Board held a total of five meetings, each lasting two days, between June-November 2020. During the meetings, national and international experts delivered presentations and the representatives of the Local Prevention and Security Board offered their opinions and experiences. The second day of the meeting included discussions where participants could provide recommendations on the structure and responsibilities of the National Crime Prevention Office.
As a result of the advisory meeting, recommendations were offered on how to develop a draft legislation for the establishment of a National Crime Prevention Office.
